ABSTRACT

Objective:

According to the analysis of the research field of tumor genetics and epigenetics from 2015 to 2019 funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), which covered the General Program, Young Science Fund project and Fund for Less Developed Regions, to provide possible references for researchersresearch content selection, and also for the administration of research performance.

Methods:

Searching the project information of H1603 tumor genetics and epigenetics funded during 2015 to 2019 from the management information system.

Results:

During the five-year period time, the total number of General Program and Young Science Fund project funded annually by NSFC in the field of tumor genetics and epigenetics had fluctuated to a certain extent, and the funded projects of Youth Science Fund project were firstly greater than General Program in the year 2019. The projects in tumor epigenetics were more than tumor genetics in general, and gene methylation, histone modification and non-coding RNA were the main research fields in the projects funded by NSFC in tumor epigenetics.

Conclusions:

The research in the tumor genetics and epigenetics funded by NSFC increased rapidly, the content of the research was more diversified and the research hotspot also gradually converted, however, the research based on high-level technology and experiment platform was still need to be improved.
