A total of 408 full-time nursing male students from four universities in Sichuan Province was selected as research subjects using a convenience sampling method. The Professional Identity Questionnaire for Nurse Students and Career Self-efficacy Questionnaire for Nurse Students were used for investigation.

RESULTS:

The higher the career self-efficacy score, the higher the professional identity(P<0.01).

CONCLUSION:

The professional identity of nursing male students in Sichuan universities were affected by their volunteer nursing professional application, interest in the major, career self-efficacy and their parents′ support to the nursing major.
