The experimental use of ramie fibers as cutaneous surgical suture have been presented. The tissue reaction, both greatly and microscopic, are well discussed. Of the 253 slides reviewed, that of the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th and 14th post-operative days, tissue reaction of the three comparative sutures were carefully studied as to the predominant cellular contentOf the three suture materials used, only ramie exhibited the most desirable characteristics of a good suture.
