Vivenciando com o filho uma passagem difícil e reveladora: a experiência da mãe acompanhante / Experiencing a difficult and revealing passage with the child: the experience of the accompanying mother

RESUMO

O presente estudo foi realizado com mães acompanhantes em um hospital escola. Os objetivos foram compreender as interações vivenciadas, identificar os significados que o familiar acompanhante atribue à experiência de vivenciar a hospitalização provocados na vida do familiar e construir um modelo teórico representativo da experiência. Utilizou-se como referencial teórico o Interacionismo Simbólico e como referencial metodológico, a "Grounded Theory". Dos resultados emergiram o fenômeno "Indo em busca de solução", que representa as tentativas da mãe resolver o problema da criança antes da sua hospitalização e "Atravessando uma situação difícil", que caracteriza a fase em que a mãe vivencia a hospitalização junto do filho internado. A partir desses fenômenos, identificou-se a categoria central "Vivenciando com o filho uma passagem difícil e reveladora"

ABSTRACT

This study was conducted live-in mothers in an university hospital. The objectives were as follows to understand the experienced interactions, to identify the meanings tha a family give to the experience of going through the child's hospitalization, to identify what the experience of hospitalization provokes in the family life and construct a model theory representative of the experience. The theory of Simbolic Interactionism and the Grounded Theory had been used as methodologial references. From the results, the phenomenon "Going in search of solution" represents the mothers' attempts to to solve their childs' problem before the hospitalization. "Going through a difficult situation" also emerged and characterizes a phase when mothers experience hospitalization with their sons. Through these phenomena, the main category "Experiencing a difficult and revealing passage with her child" was identified.
