Protección social: trazando consideraciones sobre el sistema del vecino Uruguay / Social protection: along the paths of the system in neighbouring Uruguay

RESUMEN

Resumen El artículo propone presentar las direcciones del sistema de protección social en el Uruguay desde su construcción hasta la actualidad. Para eso se ha realizado una investigación bibliográfica con carácter exploratorio. Este estudio apunta que el sistema de protección social uruguayo ha seguido diferentes y, muchas veces, múltiples direcciones sea de la lógica compensatoria, solidaria, universal, democrática, contributiva, de pleno empleo, regulada, represora y aun neoliberal.

ABSTRACT

Abstract The aim of this paper is to present the courses of action of the social protection system in Uruguay, since its inception until the present, for which bibliographical survey of exploratory nature was carried out. The results of the survey show that the Uruguayan protection system has followed diverse, sometimes multiple, directions, be them compensatory, solidaristic, universal, democratic, contributive, full-employment, regulatory, repressive, and even neoliberal.
