Ética y profesionalismo de enfermería en el uso de las redes sociales virtuales / Ethics and professionalism in nursing in the use of virtual social networks

RESUMEN

Introducción: hoy en día se ha experimentado la transición al uso de las redes sociales virtuales (RSV) en la vida cotidiana; ya no son una moda, sino un cambio radical en la forma de comunicarse. Desarrollo la finalidad de este artículo es proporcionar al estudiante y profesionales de enfermería recomendaciones acerca del uso de las RSV para evitar problemas éticos y legales por transgredir la confidencialidad de los individuos, no demeritar la imagen profesional de enfermería ni, al mismo tiempo, perjudicar la relación entre la enfermera y el paciente. Conclusiones: las RSV pueden revolucionar la profesión de la enfermería a través de la interacción con diversos colegas de múltiples países; no obstante, plantean un reto para las instituciones educativas y de salud. Dichas organizaciones deben capacitar al estudiante y personal de enfermería para encontrar datos fidedignos y utilizar las RSV desde una posición ética.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Today we have transited to the use of Virtual Social Networks (RSV) in everyday life; this condition is no longer a tendency it is the new way we in which we communicate. Development The purpose of this article is to provide the student and nursing professionals recommendations about the use of RSV; to avoid ethical and legal problems related to the transgression of confidentiality of individuals, which detract the professional image of nursing and at the same time, damage the relationship between the nurse and the patient. Conclusion: RSV can revolutionize the nursing profession through the interaction among colleagues from multiple countries that is now possible. However, the use of RSV pose a challenge to educational and health institutions that ought to train students and nursing staff in identifying and finding re- liable data, as well as using RSV in an ethical way.
