Festa e performance: do corpo cênico no tempo-espaço carnavalesco / Party and performance: scenic body in time-space of carnival

RESUMO

A pesquisa buscou analisar o corpo em sua interlocução com a máscara no Carnaval de Veneza a partir da descrição da festa e do diálogo com a Antropologia da Performance (SCHECHNER, 2006). Para tanto, foram realizadas incursões, seguindo orientações da etnografia, nos carnavais de 2013 e 2014 na referida cidade, o que permitiu a apreensão do cotidiano festivo e o contato com foliões mascarados, a partir de entrevistas e registro imagético, para a apreensão da relação entre corpo e artefato estético. Dessa interlocução deflagra-se o pensamento de que a máscara representa mais do que um artefato contemplativo, levando-o a novas experiências corporais relacionadas à criação artística e estética e à representação cênica geradas no contexto carnavalesco. Por fim, os foliões mascarados assinalam o entendimento dialético de que o corpo expressa-se como máscara assim como a máscara se expressa como extensão do corpo, criando um híbrido, expresso pela figura do corpo mascarado.

ABSTRACT

The research sought to examine the body in its dialogue with the mask at the Venice Carnival from party description and dialogue with the Anthropology of Performance (SCHECHNER, 2006). Therefore, raids were conducted following guidelines of ethnography in 2013 and 2014 carnivals in that city, which allowed the seizure of festive everyday and the contact with masked revelers from interviews and imagery record for the understanding of the relation between body and aesthetic artifact. This dialogue sets off to the thought that the mask is more than a contemplative artifact, leading him to new bodily experiences related to artistic creation and aesthetic and scenic representation generated in carnivalesque context. Finally, the carnival represents the understanding dialectic that the body is expressed as a mask and the mask is expressed as an extension of the body, creating a hybrid expressed by the figure of the masked body.
