ABSTRACT
This study demonstrates the distribution of Quetelet's body mass index [i.e. weight/height[2]] among 467 married non-pregnant female patients. The overall prevalence of obesity was 27%. Statistical analysis of our data showed that age was a significant contributor to obesity, rather than parity. A higher proportion of multiparous women were found to be obese due to the confounding effect of age on obesity
