Heterochromia iridium following central retinal vein occlusion

ABSTRACT
A 58-year-old woman developed a unique brownish discoloration of the iris, presumed to be hematogenous in origin, a few months after central retinal vein occlusion in her right eye. Apparently this heterochromia iridum, with the right iris brown and the left iris blue, was because of the severe retinal and vitreous hemorrhages that ensued the central retinal vein occlusion. There was no neovascularization of the discolored iris and no intraocular metallic foreign body in the blind left eye
