ABSTRACT
Procrastination is an act of delaying, postponing, oravoiding tasks that must be completed. It leads to poor school performance and more negative thinking. The present study aims at investigating procrastination among undergraduate students and correlates it to their self esteem. Sample size was 152 students recruited by stratified random sampling technique. Data for the present study were collected by using two types of tools, one for measuring procrastination and the other for measuring self esteem. Findings of the present study indicated that the highest mean in procrastination and self esteem was found among students in the third year, while the lowest mean in both variables was shown with students in the first level. There is moderate significant correlation between procrastination and self esteem. Based on the study findings it is recommended that it is important to understand the reasons behind procrastination among students to help nurse educators in identifying appropriate strategies and interventions and helping them overcome such behavior and improve their self esteem. Teaching strategies must be clear to indicate for the students their load in accomplishing curriculum objectives and help them develop time schedule relevant to achieve their tasks
