Cerebrovascular accident following carotid arterial dissection in a child abuse case

We present the case of a young boy who was physically abused in the form of a blunt trauma to the neck. The boy developed a dissection of his right internal carotid artery leading to a stroke few hours later. The literature regarding this entity in the pediatric population consists mainly of case reports and small series with a very limited clinical experience
