ABSTRACT
Great interest has recently been focused on implantation of soft intraocular lenses through a phaco incision. Such lenses, made of silicones or hydrogels, can be folded and pushed into the eye through a small incision not exceeding 3 or 4 mm. In this article the author will review the types and advantages of soft 10LS and will present his experience with phacoemulsification and implantation of a Mazzocco style silicone implant. This is the first report on the use of soft intraocular lenses in Egypt
