Synthesis and in vitro Antimicrobial evaluation of some 5-substituted -3- phenacylthiazolidine-2,4-diones

ABSTRACT

The synthesis and in vitro antimicrobial evaluation of 5-arylglyoxylidenethiazolidine -2, 4-diones and 5-[arylglyoxaylidene, arylidene- and isatinly idene]-3 phenacyl thiazoldine-2, 4-diones are described. Some of the products displayed a week activity when tested for in vitro antimicrobial properties against Staphlocaoccus aureus and Candida albicans but did not shown any effect on Escherichia coli
