[Misconceptions and false ideas about neurology in the arab countries]

ABSTRACT
The paper presents five common misconceptions in Neurology, starting with the word nerves, to the nervous disorders and their connections to magic and spiritual fields. Then the social stigma of neurological problems with special attention to epilepsy and the false ideas about it. It outlines treatment with emphasis on misconceptions regarding medications. The author acknowledges the fact that these ideas and concepts should be dealt with and thoroughly understood, in order to rid neurology from any misunderstanding
