ABSTRACT
Gamma glutamyl transpeptidase [gamma GT] and Alanine aminotransferase [ALT] activities were measured in 391 Benghazi blood donors. The results were compared with different age groups. There was no noticeable differences in gamma GT and ALT in all blood donors investigated. The distribution of gamma GT and ALT in healthy male adult population was established. Negative results were obtained for the detection of antibody to human T-Lymphotropic virus, Subclass III [anti-HTLV-III], whereas Hepatitis B antigen [HbsAg] was positive in 1-2% of all blood donors screened
