Prevalence of intestinal parasites in children of homs province

ABSTRACT

This research aimed to study the prevalence of intestinal parasites in a group of children in Homs province, and determination the percentage of species of the parasites in the infected children. This study, performed between 01/ 01/ 2007 - 31/ 12/ 2009, conducted on 616 children aged between 2-14 years. The results of study showed that the Parasitic infection rate was 34.25% [30.68% by intestinal protozoa 3.57% by intestinal helminths]. The most important parasite was giardia lamblia
