Bone density and bone turnover in premenopausal and andropausal R.A./SLE and behet's disease patients

ABSTRACT
Methodology:
Twenty Rheumatoid arthritis female patients and ten SLE patients, five behet's disease male patients are involved in this study, all are in age ranging from 28 years to 43 years " premenopause". With mean 32 +/- 4 years and ten normal persons with the same age group as control group. All patients had undergone to full clinical and laboratory investigation and diagnosed according to ACR criteria. 1- NTX assay measures N-telopeptide linked pyridinoline and deoxypyridinoline residues from the break down for type 1 collagen in human urine. 2-DEXA bone scan for vertibra and femoral bone for BMD. All are once and another after 6 months after taken medical treatment for osteopenia and osteoprosis patients
