Sixty five female first year nursing students from the higher institute of nursing, university of Alexandria, and who were assigned to spend their clinical practice at the medical Research institute hospital were included in the study. Data were collected using the clinical stress Questionnaire [CSQ] to determine differences between students emotional responses on the three periods of the first clinical experience. The findings denote that students responses did not differ significantly at 5% level. However, students were more worried, anxious, intimidated, fearful, overwhelmed, and excited one week immediately before the first day of the experience and became less threatened at the end of the first day
