Retrieval of misplaced intrauterine device from sigmoid

ABSTRACT

Intrauterine contraceptive device [IUCD] is a form of contraception used for long durations and is most common method used worldwide. It is associated with rare but serious complications. Migration of IUCD into the abdominal cavity can cause injuries to adjacent organs leading to intestinal and bladder perforation, omental and mesenteric injuries, strictures and fistula formation.
