Although Malta fever [brucellosis, undulent fever] is a well known zoonosis, isolation of the causative microorganism is difficult by the conventional cultural methods, Serological diagnosis needs a careful evaluation and interpretation. One of the uncommon complications of brucellosis is an early infection of the central nervous system. The cerebrospinal fluid was abnormal in both patients. This is the first report on CNS brucellosis in Iraq in my knowledge
