ABSTRACT
Three cases of a rare open perineal anterior dislocation of the hip are presented. The first two cases have passed through the same course of treatment of reduction, debridement and skeletal traction. They both developed pathological slipping of the upper femoral epiphysis and subtrochanteric fracture of the femur with chronic osteomyelitis of the proximal femur and septic arthritis. They ended up with stiff ankylosed hip joint and chronic osteomyelitis until the end of a follow up period of 4 years for the first case and 2 years for the second. The third case died after ten days because of other severe injuries
