Skin test reactivity to a locally-prepared house dust extract in patients with perennial asthma

Intradermal skin testing was performed on 100 patients with perennial asthma and 25 control subjects with no history of allergy, using different concentrations of a locally-prepared house dust [HD] extract. Thirty patients [30%] and two controls [8%] gave a positive skin test reaction to the optimal concentrations of 1 10000 [w/v] of the extract, where the sensitivity. specificity. and efficiency of the test was 85.7%. 91.7%, and 90% respectively.
