ABSTRACT
The effect of various artificially produced photoperiods on diapause induction in Aedes caspius Pallas was studied in the laboratory. Fourth stage larvae from eggs embryonated and hatched under insectary condition of 27-30°C and 60-80% R.H. could not be induced to diapause by temperature of 30 °C and different photoperiod treatments. The incidence of diapause was produced when both the entire parental generation and embryonating eggs of F[1] generation were exposed to short daily [10 hr] photophase
