ABSTRACT
The semi-sold fermentation of date waste with Endomycopsis fibuligera can increase the concentration of the protein of the residue by up to 325 g/kg substrate. Optimal culture conditions were found to be 29 +/- 1° at pH 5.5 for 60 hr which produced a biomass yield 7.62 g/100g dry substrates. The starch content in the wet date waste culture was efficiently consumed [about 91%]. The bioconversion can be carried out to produce SCP with a high percentage of essential amino acids which increased its nutritional value to be used as animal feed. Total lipids and lipid component analyses revealed that double amounts found after 60 hr of fermentation
