Study of peptic ulcer in Salah-Al-Deen province

ABSTRACT
Hundred patients included in this study and represent 4% from all patients attending to Saddam's General Hospital in Salah Al-Deen community during the period from 15/2/1993 to 1/4/1993. The study indicated that duodenal ulcer was predominant types of ulcer. Epigastria pain was the most frequent type of pain and it was more in gastric ulcer than duodenal ulcer. Antiacid represent the main relieving factor for pain and fasting is the main aggrevating factor. The study showed that house wives were more affected by peptic ulcer and the O blood group was predominant type of ulcer. Patients with peptic ulcer were more affected when taking N S A I D
