ABSTRACT
One hundred recruits from the Central Security Forces in Alexandria were investigated for the presence of Phthirus pubis infestation. 20% of them were infested by the lice. Factors responsible for the transmission of the condition were evaluated. It was found that non-sexual factors play a major role in spreading the infestation more than sexual contact especially in that community. Recommendations to control Phthirus pubis in this important closed community were discussed in details
