ABSTRACT
The level of chlorinated hydrocarbons is detected in different fish samples from two sampling sites Edku lake and Abu-quir bay. HCH, DDE, DDD, endrin, DDT and polychlorinated biphenyls [PCB's] were the major detected chlorinated hydrocarbons. DDE is the major detected DDT metabolite in fish samples. The ratio of to alpha to gamma -HCH isomers in different fish species from lake Edku is higher than Abu-quir fish samples, the level of chlorinated pesticides in Tilapia fish El-Maadeia is higher than Edku fish and positively correlated with the tissue fat content. Polychlorinated biphenyl [PCV's] as Arochlor 1260 is detected more frequently in Abu-quir fish samples than Edku
