ABSTRACT
This study aimed to investigate the influence of the abdominal and back exercises on low back pain severity and evaluate the triaxial thoracolumbar mobility in chronic mechanical low back pain patients. Both abdominal and back exercises produced a significant reduction in low back pain severity after two weeks of treatment. There was no statistically significant difference between the treatment groups. Regarding the sagittal mobility of the thoracolumbar spine, it was found that the abdominal exercises increased the sagittal mobility more than back exercises did. The coronal and transverse mobility of the thoracolumbar spine was unaffected by the exercise programs
