ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to evaluate the endovaginal sonongraphic hysterosalpingography [SHSCG] as a preliminary test of tubal patency in investigation of infertility and to compare this new technique with conventional hysterosalpingographv [HSG] / Chromolaparoscopv. In this study, 25 patients with history of infertility from the Radiology Department of Lady Wellington Hospital Lahore [an affiliated Hospital to King Edward Medical College, Lahore], were included. The test was performed by injecting isotonic saline into the uterine cavity through a catheter. While comparing the results of SHSG with HSG / Chromolaparoscopy, there was a complete agreement in 23 patients [92%] and partial agreement in 2 patients [8%], having unilateral tubal block. It is concluded that, this is an out door procedure, simple, safe, accurate and cost effective. It is an excellent technique both for screening and diagnostic purposes for the assessment of uterine cavity and fallopian tubes in infertility investigations. Its use will reduce the need for HSG and in some patients Chromolaparoscopy
