Pseudohypoaldosteronism in a kuwaiti infant - case report

Pseudohypoaldosteronjsm is a rare hereditary disorder presenting in early infancy with renal salt loss leading to hyponatraemia and hyperkalaemia despite high levels of plasma aldosterone. We describe a Kuwaiti family female infant who presented in the neonatal period with severe salt-wasting and life threatening hyperkalaemia. She responded to salt supplements and ion-exchange resin
