ABSTRACT
4896 individuals from Dakahlia Governorate were examined for parasitic infections. S. haematobium was detected in 18.63%. The commonest parasite was S. mansoni followed by E. histolytica. A significant relationship between amoebiasis and intestinal schistosomiasis has been demonstrated. Possible mechanisms include mechanical intramucosal tissue damage produced by Schistosoma ova and an altered immunological responsiveness
