Synthesis and reactions of saccharinely-benzoic acid azides. the biological activity of the products

ABSTRACT

Diaryl ureas are reported to exhibit herbicidal activity and the wide range of pharmaceutical activities of saccharin [1-5] are also well known. In the present investigation we have introduced the saccharinyl moiety into the o -, m-, and p - positions of benzoic acid with the object of studying the behaviour of the resulting acid azides towards base and acid catalyzed decomposition and also to screen the prepared compounds for antimicrobical activities.
