ABSTRACT
In this work, Palmaz Schatz stents were deployed for 36 patients with renal artery stenosis. The technical success in deploying the stents was 100%. Thirty-five patients were controlled angiographically after 4-6 months. The mean period of follow up was 19.4 +/- 4.5 months. One case showed acute thrombosis treated successfully with fibrinolysis. Restenosis was encountered in 11 patients. A nonsignificant restenosis was detected in three patients. All cases of restenosis during the follow up were successfully treated with balloon angioplasty. Renal artery stenting could be a good adjunctive to PTRA
