Critical care at PNS shifa - a statistical review for the year 1999

ABSTRACT

Various systems of patient sorting are operational around the globe in different way in order to prioritize the patient care. In Pak Armed Forces patients are placed on VSIL/SIL according to severity of their condition so that critical care can be offered to them on priority basis. Analysis of hospital statistics of PNS Shifa has revealed that major causes for admission to critical care centres are almost universal with minor variations. This study has also highlighted the significance of hospital statistics
