ABSTRACT
Decently it has been shown that hydrogen peroxide reacts with alpha, beta-un-saturated carbonyl compounds producing alpha, beta-epoxy ketones [1, 2]. Treatment of alcoholic solution of the beta-aroylacrylic acids [la and b] with hydrogen peroxide in presence of catalytic amounts of NaOH gives the epoxide derivatives [IIa and b]
