ABSTRACT
This study was performed to determine the effectiveness of arthroscopic suture anchor labro-capsulorrhaphy for anterior shoulder instability. Nineteen shoulders in 19 patients with traumatic anterior instability were evaluated for recurrence, return to activity, range of motion and feeling of pain after arthroscopic suture anchor of the labral injury, using Mitek, Panalok, Ethicon anchor. In a beach-chair position and general anesthesia, posterior and anterior portals were used for the arthroscopy. Suture of the glenoid lesion using one or two anchor was performed. A postoperative program was followed for six weeks. Sixteen shoulders had excellent results with no re-dislocation, full range of motion and return to prior activity without pain. One shoulder developed dislocation five months after the operation and two patients complained from pain during the extremes of motion. The final results were not related to the age of the patient, number of dislocations, Hil-Sachs lesion and the different conditions of the labrum
