Nutritional status of high school girls at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

ABSTRACT
The nutritional status of girls of the High School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia was studied. Mean body weights and heights for age of girls show that all girls were less than the standard except for the age group 19 for body weight. About one third [34%] of the girls were under weight or lean. The caloric intake and protein consumption were higher than the recommended dietary allowances [RDA]. The girls got only 40% of the RDA of vitamin A, and 57% of vitamin C. One fourth [24%] of the girls are accustomed to eat no breakfast
