The effect of oral contraceptives on the haematological picture in 120 rural fertile Egyptian females was studied. Contraceptive pills were given continuously for two years. The study revealed that neither the combined pill [lynestrenol - ethinyl oestradil] nor the minipill [lynestrenol] could induce any effect on the hematological picture during the two years period of pill usage
