RESUMO
Sealants are highly effective in preventing pit and fissure caries. Researchers have demonstrated that sealant treatment over carious lesion become an arrested lesion and remain so far as long as the sealant stays intact (therapeutic Sealants). By the other hand, there is a general agreement that a market increasing an interproximal caries prevalence has occurred among young adults in spite of the drastic reduction in caries prevalence among children. This paper give the clinical procedure and the foundations about a new and not invasive clinic therapy, consisting in sealing of the incipient interproximal carious lesions, in addition to explain the experience of the author related with this matter as well as in vitro and in vivo studies in most of the developed countries in recent decades
