Morton's neuroma: therapeutic decisions

RESUMO
The authors present 10 cases of mortonïs neuroma. The aim of study was to analyze its surgical and conservative treatments. Eight cases were sugically treated and 2 cases were conservativel treated. Preoperative clinical localization correlated with intraoperative findings in 6 of 8 cases (75 percent), and MRI scans correlated in 6 of patients (75 percent). Of these 8 patients, 7 achieved satisfactory outcomes (87.5 percent). Of the initial 10 patients (20 percent), 2 achieved satisfactory outcomes with conservative treatment. The diagnosis, conservative treatment and indication as well as surgical pitfalls are discussed
