RESUMO

O presente trabalho propõe uma abordagem do nível de conhecimento de médicos com atuação na área geriátrica sobre saúde bucal, além de buscar elucidar o papel da odontologia em equipes de assistência à terceira idade e a importância da interdisciplinaridade, através de entrevistas a médicos com atuação geriátrica no Estado de São Paulo.

ABSTRACT

This work proposes to approach the knowledge level of physicians working in the geriatric area about oral health; in addition, it aims to elucidate the role of dentistry in staffs wich provide health care for the third age and the importance of interdisciplinarity. To fulfill these objectives, interviews were conducted with physicians who work in the geriatric field in the state of Sâo Paulo.
