ABSTRACT
In the present article the author presents his point of view about the general diagnosis approach on the Irritable Intestine Syndrome (IIS), pathology of high prevalence and social impact on which there is still controversy about the diagnosis, in spite of the existence of diagnosis criteria drafted in specialists consensus. For some, the IIS diagnosis must be obtained excluding organic pathologies, without presenting a primary clinic diagnosis. Reflection on this position and the diagnosis is suggested to be made based on clinics and positive facts, not the exclusion.
RESUMEN
En el presente artículo el autor presenta su punto de vista respecto del enfoque diagnóstico general del Síndrome de Intestino Irritable (SII), patología de alta prevalencia e impacto social sobre la cual siguen habiendo controversias sobre su diagnóstico, a pesar de existir criterios diagnósticos redactados en consensos de especialistas. Para algunos, el diagnóstico del SII debe obtenerse realizando la exclusión de patologías orgánicas, pero no planteando un diagnóstico clínico primario. Se reflexiona sobre esta postura y se sugiere que el diagnóstico del SII se realice en base a la clínica y a hechos positivos, no a la exclusión.
