Diferentes concepções da infância e adolescência: a importância da historicidade para sua construção / Different conceptions on childhood and adolescence: the importance of historicity on their construction

RESUMO

Este artigo discute diferentes concepções de infância e adolescência. Evidencia o contexto no qual essas concepções se formaram e como vêm sendo apresentadas como verdades teóricas na contemporaneidade. Partimos do princípio de que tais concepções vêm mudando no ocidente, nos permitindo ver que as transformações deixam clara a tessitura histórica na qual elas são construídas. Mostramos que, contrapondo-se à perspectiva moderna de infância e adolescência, a pós-modernidade aponta para uma nova concepção, que abre espaço para a multiplicidade e parcialidade de representações destas faixas desenvolvimentais.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to discuss different conceptions on childhood and adolescence. It analyses the context in which these conceptions were constructed, and how they have been presented as truly theories on the contemporaneity. We start from the principle that these conceptions have been changing in the occident, making possible to see that the transformations clarify the historical texture on which they are constructed. We show that, in contrast with the modern perspective on childhood and adolescence, the pos-modernity points to a new conception, which opens a space to a multiplicity and partiality of representations on these developmental intervals.
