O olhar do outro primordial / The gaze of the primordial other

RESUMO

O objetivo deste trabalho é discutir a hipótese de uma causalidade pré-verbal da realidade psíquica, estabelecida no corpo-a-corpo mãe-criança. O olhar é o objeto que intermedia essa relação. Ele é causa de desejo, institui uma falta e, como a palavra, deixa marcas sobre o bebê. No nosso entender ele constitui um objeto pré-verbal e, como tal, pré-anuncia o verbal, ou seja, cria a condição de. A percepção da mãe sobre o seu bebê é sempre uma suposição, passível de enganos, engodos e desmentidos. O jogo de olhares entre mãe e criança operado nesse campo, instala uma Verleugnung primordial que produz a ilusão de união, suposição de completude, de corpo contínuo, desmentindo a experiência de separação que instala a descontinuidade entre ambas e, portanto, a alteridade.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this article is to discuss the hypothesis of a pre-verbal causality of psychic reality established in body-to-body contact between mother and child. The gaze is the object that intermediates this relationship. It is the cause of desire, institutes a lack and, like the word, leaves marks on the child. It constitutes a pre-verbal object and, as such, pré-announces what is verbal. That is, create the “condition of.” The mother’s perception of her baby is always a supposition subject to mistakes, lies and denials. The play of gazes and glances between mother and child that is operated in this field installs a primordial Verleugnung that produces the illusion of union, a supposition of completeness, of a continous body denying the experience of installs the discontinuity between the two and, therefore alterity.
