RESUMO
O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar os efeitos do treinamento físico sobre os níveis séricos de GH (hormônio de crescimento) e IGF-1 (fator de crescimento semelhante à insulina) em ratos diabéticos experimentais. Para o estudo os ratos foram distribuídos em 4 grupos controle sedentário (CS), controle treinado (CT), diabético sedentário (DS) e diabético treinado (DT). O diabetes foi induzido por meio de Aloxana (35mg/kg). O programa de treinamento físico consistiu em natação por 60 minutos diários, 5 dias/semana, durante 6 semanas consecutivas. Ao final do período experimental, os ratos foram sacrificados e o sangue foi utilizado para dosagem de glicose, insulina, GH e IGF-1. As tíbias foram retiradas e radiografadas para avaliação da área total. Os resultados obtidos foram avaliados pela análise de variância (ANOVA) com aplicação do teste de bonferroni, e o nível de significância estabelecido em 5%. O diabetes resultou em aumento da glicemia e redução da insulinemia, GH e área total das tíbias. Os resultados mostram que o treinamento físico não alterou significativamente os níveis de glicose, insulina e GH no grupo diabético. Contudo, promoveu aumento significativo dos níveis de IGF-1 nos grupos treinados. Concluímos que a atividade física promove importantes adaptações relacionadas ao crescimento em organismos diabéticos.
ABSTRACT
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of physical training on serum GH (Growth hormone) and IGF-1 (Insulin-like growth factor) levels in diabetic rats. For the study, male [Wistar] rats were distributed into 4 groups, sedentary control (SC), trained control (TC), sedentary diabetic (SD), and trained diabetic group (TD). Experimental diabetes was induced by Aloxan (35mg/b.w.). The training program consisted in swimming 5 days/week, 1 h/day, during 6 weeks. At the end of the experimental period, the rats were sacrificed and their blood was collected for determining dosages of serum glucose, insulin, GH and IGF-1. The tibiae were collected for total area determination. The results were analyzed by ANOVA through the Bonferroni test and the significance level was set at 5%. Diabetes resulted in increase in glycaemia and decrease in insulinaemia, GH, and the tibial total area. The results indicated that physical training did not significantly altered serum glucose, insulin, and GH levels in the diabetic groups. However, it promoted significant increase in serum IGF-1 in both TC and TD groups. It was concluded that physical training promotes important adaptations related to growth in diabetic organisms.
