Reativação de HPV genital e, paciente infectada pelo HIV associada à síndrome da reconstituição inflamatória imune / Reactivation off genital HPV in a patient infected by HIV associated with immune reconstitution in inflammatory syndrome

RESUMO

É estimado que de 10% a 20% dos pacientes com grave imunodeficiência secundária à infecção pelo vírus da imunodeficiência humana (HIV) e submetidos à terapia antirretroviral de alta atividade (HAART) apresentem doença associada à síndrome da reconstituição inflamatória imune, na maior parte dos casos com curso benigno e muito raramente com evolução para óbito. No presente estudo, relatamos uma apresentação pouco frequente da síndrome, relacionada à infecção pelo papilomavírus humano (HPV) e que suscitou confusão com o agravamento da infecção pelo HIV por ineficácia do esquema antirretroviral prescrito.

ABSTRACT

It has been estimated that about 10 to 20% of patients with severe immune deficiency related to the infection with the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) and submitted to Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) develop diseases associated with the immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS), with a benign course in most cases and rarely evolving to death. In the present study, we report on a very uncommon presentation of IRIS related to infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) and that was incorrectly interpreted as progression of HIV disease due to the unsuccessful antiretroviral therapy.
