ABSTRACT
Overweighting, obesity, and physical inactivity represent serious health problems, both concerning adults and elderly. The objective of this paper is to verify the influence of live physical activity and technical instruction over the execution of daily life simple movements in obese elderly women. The sample was composed by twenty obese elderly (10 active and 10 non-active; average age= 69,15). Both groups executed the movements initially with no instructions and right after it, instructions were given. Statistics analysis showed that there is no significant statistical difference between the groups. However, it is observed that they have statistic superior results over the movements when previous instructions were given. It is concluded that besides the level of physical activity done, lack of information can contribute to decrease the movement quality.
