A punto de estallar: problemáticas clínicas actuales de la niñez / About to burst: present clinical problems of childhood

RESUMEN

Se trata de la consideración del niño actual o atravesado por la cultura actual. De los procesos de subjetivación en un medio en el cual la rapidez y la eficiencia parecen dominar también el espacio terapéutico que se le ofrece. La sobremedicación y las terapias exclusivamente basadas en una adaptación a los códigos que la familia y la sociedad esperan, impiden una verdadera comprensión de la patología de la niñez. Un caso clínico (“Víctor”) ilustra y hace de hilo conductor deestas reflexiones.

ABSTRACT

This paper considers children in the present day, or children living in our present culture the processes of subjectivation take place within an environment where rapidity and efficiency seem to dominate even the therapeutic space offered to children.The author suggests that when children have been prescribed excessive (psychiatric) medication, or when they are on therapies exclusively based on forcing them to adjust to the codes expected by their families, or by society, the true understanding of the pathologies of childhood is hindered. The clinical case of Victor illustrates these reflections and establishes a connection with one another.
