RESUMO

O objetivo do presente estudo é compreender a vivência da Doença deAlzheimer (DA) a partir da perspectiva do portador. Para isso, utilizamos o diário publicado de Claude Couturier, portadora da DA, procurando compreender os significados atribuídos por ela ao quadro. Foi realizada uma análise textual qualitativa, o que apontou ariqueza da experiência de quem vive a DA. O relato de Claude evidencia a importância de estudarmos a DA também sob a ótica do portador.

ABSTRACT

The objective of the present study is to comprehend the experience ofAlzheimer’s Disease (AD) by the patient point of view. In order to accomplish that, we usedthe published diary of Claude Couturier, an Alzheimer’s patient, with the objective tounderstand the meanings ascribed by her to her experience as a patient of AD. Aqualitative text analysis was done indicating the pertinence of the person who lives the ADexperience. Claude´s record shows the relevance of studying the AD under the perspectiveof the patient.
