ABSTRACT
Objective:
to analyze two pediatric cases of ventriculo-gallblader shuntMaterial andmethod:
two patients, one being five days old and the other 14 months old, presented a hydrocephalus. Due to different reasons, both were unable to receive a classical ventriculo-peritoneal shunt, neither a ventriculo-atrial shunt. Both received a ventriculo-gallblader shunt, being a pediatric surgeon part of the surgical team.Results:
three years after the procedure, no signs of hydrocephaly were observed.Conclusion:
ventriculo-gallblader shunt is a valid option for hydrocephalus treatment when other options are contraindicated.
